IN POST-PRODUCTION DIRECTED BY KASIA SMUTNIAK
Actress Kasia Smutniak makes her directorial debut with a documentary that is a travel diary in her home country, Poland. The journey is marked by a set of walls: that of the Jewish ghetto in front of which she grew up and the one built by the government at the border with Belarus to repel the migrants coming from Syria. Some walls are insurmountable, invisible and divide people into human beings worthy of sympathy and those who don’t deserve it. Walls that are forests, barbed wire and that sometimes become open doors as in the case of the welcoming of Ukrainian refugees, just 200 Km below that same forest of tortures where asylum-seeking migrants are hunted down.
