Our film follows Angelo, Mery, Rosy and Giada, four eleven-year-olds who live in Danisinni, an old isolated neighborhood in Palermo. In the middle of the main square, there is an abandoned kindergarten, a place believed to be haunted, which everyone avoids and uses as a dump. The children explore it and decide to transform one of the abandoned rooms of the building into their secret hideaway. As the days pass, the kindergarten becomes cleaner, more decorated and intimate; it goes from being a simple playground to a safe space where they can escape the gaze of others, share their fears and let their imagination run free without feeling judged.
